| G231 is here and its kicking some buttGot G231 installed on my gasser and did a test flight last weekend. It has clearly better power over G230. After about 1/4 gallon through it for break-in I tested full power climb out and the new engine had no problem swinging 720 mm blades at 10-11 degree pitch. G230 was bogging down with 700 mm blades at this pitch settings. It is not exactly apple to apple comparison as I use 95-t main gear now versus 90-t main gear with G230 but at the same time I am running G231 1/4 turn richer. Both engines were tested with the same 603 carb. |
