I am purchasing a LOGO 10 and need advise what else to get.

What is the best brushless Motor, what the best controller and BEC

and which are the best digital servos for CCPM.

Also how many cells, 12,13 or 14 and Nicads or Nimhs.

Thanks

The "best" brushless motor depends on what type of flying your going to do? The "best" controller is a matter of personal prefrence? As for digital servos, that depends on your flying style and budget? The type of cells used I like to use are the Sanyo 14 cell NiCd, because they have more power then the NiMH, the only disadvantage is they don't last as long. I don't use a BEC so I can't suggest anything there. If you give us more to work with e.g. flying style and budget, then we may be able to suggest something accordingly.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Da' Man for Logo 10 setup is Gary Wright. Here is what he is currently using:

Hacker B50 11L
13 tooth pinion
Hacker 40-3P heli ESC (with governer)
12 cell panasonic 3000's

The "best" digitals for the Logo 10 seem to be JR DS-3421. Of course Futaba GY401/9253 on the tail.

For tons of info on Logo setup go to LOGOmania. Also see http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ght=logo+owners and http://www.logoheli.com/LOGObb/viewtopic.php?t=416.

Have fun,
John

Actually, everything is right for what Gary flies - except for the battery pack

Gary flies a Thunder Power 4s4p 8000 mah pack. Total flight time is 20 minutes per charge - less weight and more power than the 12 cell 3000s with LOTS more flight time!

Thanks very much for your input. To answer Saint728's questions I will fly mostly mild acrobatics, no 3D, but a get a lot of fun out of good and fast performance.

As for personal preference on controlers etc. I don't know. I have been flying gas helis for years and can tell yu exactly what I want but have no experience with electrics.

Budget is an issue but I have learned it's better to wait a little and get the right stuff otherwise I'll be just selling off the cheap components after a while.

One of my main issues is LONG flight times.

Heligroup, if your looking for a motor that will give you good acrobatics, I would go with a Hacker B50-13L, C50-13L or B50-15L. I would also suggest some Kontronik motors as well. The Kontronic Fun 600-15, Fun 600-17 will work about the same as the Hackers. As for ESC's, I would probably go a proven one like Schultze Future 12.46e ESC, Future 18.46k ESC or Hacker Master 48-3P.

The batteries are going to be a tough choice. For the longest flight times I would go with a couple of 4s4p 8000 mah pack's. I think they cost around $300.00 each pack, but they last about 20 minutes or more. You will have to buy a charger that can charge those packs and that cost another $200-300. If you go the Sanyo 3000/3300 NiMH 12 cell packs, then you can get away with buying a less expensive charger. The batteries cost around $70.00 per pack and you get around 6-7 minutes of mild acrobatics.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I went from the B50 11L to the C50 13L when transitioning to the 4S4P lithium packs. The 11L is a bit too hot a motor for the voltage of a 4S4P pack. It works, you get way over 2K of headspeed, but the batteries come out well done instead of medium rare , and flight time is only 14~15 minutes.

the 11 or 13, etc... that is the wind of the motor. the L denotes that its the Long series of the Hacker motors. You will note on the different Hacker motors that there are S (short) L (long) and XL (extra long)

the triton works well (I have one and like it for smaller packs) but it's a "cheapie" charger that only goes to 2.5 amps with lipos, so be prepared for 4 hours or so charge times.
