| You can see a pic of my header tank mount at http://www.vftp.net/rchelicopters/raptor/r1/index.html , it's mounted so as to not be in the way of anything. This did require drilling a hole. I later added a wire-tie to it because the tank liked to rotate around in the mounting hole, even though I added a star washer. (you can see it's turned a little in the picture) It's nice and solid now.
I tried mounting it to the unused hole to the right, but that large protrusion that runs above it didn't allow the tank to sit flush, and it also blocked access to the main tank, so I made a hole where it worked best.
Such a little hole is not going to compromise the strength of the frame.
Note also the remote glow connector, below and left of the needle valve. Much better than having to remove the canopy to start it.  |
