Being a beginner and all I am just curious as when to use the idle-up switch. Do you use it during normal hovering or is it reserved for inverted hovering or aerobatics? Confused!!! Please help. Thank you.

that is true but as a beginner, you may want to program
the idle-up modes the same as normal so that if you
accidentally hit the mode switch, the machine continues
to do 'the right thing'.

IDLE UP

When you use Idle up, you have quite experience flying the heli and programming radios. When you are in the idle up mode, the bottom pitch is -10 deg, your center stick is 0 deg, and your top pitch is +10deg. Corresponding setting for throttle is 100%, 45% and 100%.
This is a very vague explanation as technical settings on the helicopter and radio programming are involved too. I would suggest you buy the book "Ray's Manual for Helicopters".
