I would forget the magnetic sensor of the GV1 and go for an optical one (just search for optical sensor on this forum).
You don't have to bother about the magnets and balancing. A small alu-strip on your clutch bell (which you should paint black first to get optimum contrast to alu strip) is all it takes.
Fixing the sensor?, prob on the engine mount (maybe even with the GV1 engine mount parts).
I build the optical myself but they can be ordered as a complete build kit. It is running on my X-treme for about a year now without problems.
