hornet is capable but requires finesse in set up

the hornet is a capable 3d machine when you keep it light and set it up well. also, in order to be happy with the 3D you have to be pretty carefull with collective management. you can't exactly just pull a flip with no forward speed downwind, you have to build up the engergy and carry it through. at the Brooks heli fly in Oregon this last weekend my hornet with edf 50 tail and dennis's from DEE TEE got wrung out pretty good by the top local pilots. the other thing we proved is the durabilty, and ease of repairs, I dumb thumbed mine in a few times and each time had it back in the air in less than an hour

If you want to see some impressive hornet piloting go to Helihobby's site and watch the hornet aluminum head video. This guy flip his hornet in to inverted hover befor it got 2 feet of the ground.

And if you want to try to fly one there is a free sim called Pre-flight that has a hornet H500 and a regular CP hornet. This is an awsome sim and I think it is pretty accurate.

Mine was light @ 278 grams and hacker with li-po cells and it could do it all from a complete stand still. But It is effected by a slight breeze. and it it almost impossible to see if it gets to far away from you.

I think they are alot harder to fly than 30's or even bigger E-heli's like the Eco8

Micro Helis are harder to build and fly than the larger machines. Either glow or electric. There is no doubt about that. As others have suggested, they will do it all when built and set up correctly and flown with a bit of finesse.

Thankfully, there is a large crowd of folks out there that do like the micro electric heli hobby and are having a fun, challenging, frustrating experience with them. Same as other sizes and types of helis.

It was fun flying with you Aaron at Brooks. You did an excellant job on yours and Russ did kind of run mine through the ringer. It needs a bit of work to get a few more grams off it and maybe the latest Li-Ploy batt pack. But everything is basically there to do it all even right now.

Of course, we have some nice new upgrades to make it even better and more fun.
