Guys i need help about my radio, i bought my Hirobo shuttle zxx in Japan with JR MAX-66 Radio. Does anyone of you ever use this radio, does anyone have an English manual for this radio? I've gone to our local flying field in Manila philippines they told me that they CAN'T help me setting my heli because they are not familiar with my radio since they are all using FUTABA radio. Thanx!

I think that model is sold in the USA as the "XP652." The 652's manual is on the Horizon web site.

I could be wrong, but you have nothing to lose by checking it out.

Hello again Jessie,

If you got the radio in Japan, I hope it's set for Mode II operation. Japan uses Mode I. Most all flyers here fly Mode II except for the instructor in the Baradas flying field in Batangas.

I looked through Deja News. It turns out that the MAX-66 is the same as the XF-622 that was sold in the USA a few years ago. From what I recall (I owned both of those radios), the XP-652 manual is close enough to help set up the basics. Of course the 652 has more features, but many menus are the same.

Jessie,

Good job on the switchover. I did encounter a Max66 around 6 months ago when another flyer from the states came to the field with a Hawk. It had 3 point pitch curves. I couldn't figure it out on the spot since he didn't have the manual. Luckily, I guided him to the Filinvest field (where I fly now, occationally in Baradas) and alot of JR users were able to set it up and fly the Hawk with it.

We are scheduled to have some flyers from MA visit the Philippines this April and we're gonna have a blast learning 3D. Hope you come.

RC-CAM,
Your right about the JR XP-652, that was the closest radio to match the JR MAX-66. I was able to obtain the manual for that radio thru the internet a few months ago. I admit that somehow i learn some functions with it. But i still dont know what to input on PLN,P2N,PHN,PLS,P2S,PHS,TLN,T2N,THN,HOLD,RVU,RVD AND SO ON. Thanx

DAVE_D,
Im very much interested to attend your fun fly this april, could you be more specific on the date? Can you sketch to me the location in fil-invest alabang. I just arrived from manila, can i have your contact number? Thanx
