I decided since it was getting cold out I would try a Raptor 60 Arf to get some flying in quickly.First day I took it out after checking it out I reved her up and it started spin in circles, have a look and low and behold the tail rotor hub is loose on the shaft.OK fix this take it out a few days later does the same thing, Tail rotor forks have come off the bushing! So I guess the moral of the story is check to see if what is supposed to be loctited actually is even if it is an arf.Have any of you more seasoned pilots come up against this with arfs?

I had a similar experience with my Raptor 30 ARF.
I was flying doing flips and the tail rotor's ball link disconnected from the pushrod because it had been screwed in only a couple of turns.

Re:ARF

I agree completely that building is the way to go,but in my case I wanted to do some flying in a hurry so I paid the price.Since my post I have gone through it completely and am satisfied it is ok.I do enjoy building and you do know as long as you take your time it will be right the first time, but there is a place for arfs I think I just should have taken the time to give it a more through inspection before using it.
