Hi guys:

Do I really have to drill my fan to put the magnets in or can i just glue them on the bottom. Its such a nice metal fan. Its going in my Ergo 46. Also there is no spec on the distance the magnet is supposed to be from the center of main shaft. Only has the distance for .30 and .60 but no .46 engine

Any help will be greatly appreciated

About the distance to the magnet.

The procedure on how to align the sensor to the magnet talks about a certain percentage that should show on the GV1. This percentage is an indication of the magnetic field picked up by the sensor and should be at least the described percentage.

My setup shows a percentage of 97%, which in my opinion is the highest reachable.

Good luck.

this is not my first heli but it is my first time dealing with a governer.

I have flown this heli but the head overspeeds so i decided to get a governer for it (i am so tired of messing with the throttle curves) Can I use 5 min epoxy? The engine has about 12 tanks thru it.

I would suggest using 30min epoxy.

thats a sore spot for me tuning the damn thing especially the os 46 AND a tuned pipe on it we all know its a bitch to tune. I keep it rich. already installed the GV1 and hovered it did notice some difference but main rotor speed was nowhere near the setting I set up. I set 1550 in normal all i got was 1350 didnt bother to try to figure it out now I'll get some local help at the field on saturday. also its the 5/32 inch drill bit not 5/16 as you stated earlier

hmm I figured 12 tanks would be enough I mean its not like its an ABC engine

Guys,

I w8 for my GV1, I noticed that you mentioned the lack of recommended distance for 46 sized engines and I would like to ask you if you have any idea where to drill my metal fan of OS 46. I read the manual carefully and IMO it would be better to attach the sensor on the engine and then I will find otu where to drill. Am I correct?

Moreover, In the manual is mentioned that the hole have to be 1.7mm deep.
My fan is 2mm thick and I decided to make a hole from one side to the other. I know that aluminium is lighter than magnet and I assess that if i drill it in this way I will compensate the more heavy magnet. Do you think that I will need balancing? Any1 having done it and faced vibration problems?

Furthermore, I use a JR 347 and as far as I studied both manuals, the only possibility is to have it on-off by the gear switch. Is there any posibility to set up this switch to control 2 head speeds and the on-off from the stick. I'd appreciated any help from somebody with the same configuration

Thank you guys

JR 347 and GV-1

Well, In order to be more precise.

My Config is: 1. AUX2 assigned to CSM 400 Mode selection (from this switch I activate Heading Hold or Normal mode)
2. Gear assigned to GV-1 on off

If I use a Y-lead to aux2 and I plug the on off GV-1's lead and in Gear I plug the speed selection lead (and setup GV1 to deal with only 2 head speeds), will I be able to work it in this way?

Moreover, What about AUTO practicing, Will I have to switch the GV1 off before I activate the hold switch or not? I've read nowhere about this.

Any Idea
