Hi Guys

In a bit of a quandry, I want a zimmerman pipe and liked the look on one of my friends sceadu 50's as it was longer and thinner than the normal OS50 muffler, it also has the pipe exit comig right out of the back 'a la' century or ksj mufflers. On my raptor 50 it is quite short and fat and the exit is angled down (Not a bad thing).

I was led to believe the thinner pipe was designed for the Sceadu model.

Today I found out that the thinner model was specially designed for the OS32 sceadu and the fatter larger chambered one is for the OS50 Sceadu as per my Raptor.

So tell me which one are you guys using (if any) on the sceadu 50, easy, either short and fat, or long and skinny.

I have been told now by 2 different sources that the skinny one is designed for the 30 engine, if true its gonna piss a few guys off who are using them on their 50 !!. Choked and overheating springs to mind.

Cheers

Mine is long and thin : )

Surely the one for the thirty would not physically fit on the one for the fifty ? I'd have thought the port would be larger on the bigger motor so the bolt holes wouldn't line up if it were incorrect. Also, I was shown a 50 size Zimmer up at SkyLines just the other week (we were trying to see if it would fit a Webra 52AAR when my OS50 bearing went), and it was the same as mine - long and thin with the exit straight out the back.

BTW, you can get Zimmer deflectors made from stainless that will angle this away from the fuzzy.

On another topic, the vinyl you used on your Sceadu - I tried to get some today but it doesn't stretch at all. Is the stuff you get stretchy, and if not how do you get it to go round all the curves without wrinkling ?

Cheers

Vinyl

Hi

The bolt holes on the OS32 and the OS50 are exactly the same, weird hey.

As far as the vinyl goes, mine doesnt seem to stretch and it depends how tight your curves are and how much you want to do, mine is laid on in single panels, the hardest bit is the orange on the bulge at the side as it does wrinkle but with a hairdryer and a bit of pressing it goes down nice, all the others stuck on no problem at all.

I'm quite fussy and managed to lay all my panels without a single wrinkle.

See ya

lee, kill it dead by taking the zimmy fat boy off yer rappy 30 and see if the exhaust port opening is the same size as dirks long thin one (don't like the sound of this!!) the question is "does size matter" ? cos the zimmy i had for the concept vr was half the size of the rappy one but still the same style. the one for the SE is as you are discribing dirks , which is alot thinner than the rappy one.
