| Engines?Yes, there is a thread here somewhere but I don't know how to link to it. Anyway, what I have done sucessfully several times is to "cook" the parts (after disassembly) in a crock pot with uncut automotive anti-freeze. The crock pot is electric and used to cook food slowly over-nite.
**NOTE** **NOTE**
NEVER Use the pot for food or ANY human consumption after using it with anti-freeze, it WILL be contaminated. As well, only do this in a WELL ventalated area, the fumes may also be toxic.
Some of the caked on stuff may require a bit of scrubbing with a nylon type brush. This method will clean the parts to a "like new" condition without any harm to the parts.
I have left mufflers in the pot up to a week with great results.  |
