Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > location of base load antenna

Have any of you guys secured a base loaded antenna to the side frames? is this a bad spot ? All I know is it's supposed to be a least 1" from the wires. What if the wire that comes out of the receiver to the actuall antenna goes through the wires? Will I have a problem?

Where else have you mounted them?

thanks!

I screwed mine to the round thingy on the end of the battery/receiver tray, then I angled it up towards the swash plate and atteched the end to the area that you put the rubber bands through for your receiver.
Put the canopy on and you can't see it but works just as good as my other Rappy with the long wire.

I fed mine through the loops inside of the gear where you would normally put the 'straw' that your antenna runs through. Through the second one, I put a piece of this 'straw' and then joined the two together with a piece of fuel tubing. Works great so far. No problems, but it has only had 5 gallons through it since I did it.

side frames?

I used the landing gear struts. The loops are moulded right on the inside of them and hold a revolution antenna nice and tight.

I use a Dubro control horn and drill a 2mm hole into the landing
gear and point the Revolution forward.

I drilled a hole through the front round part at the very front of the servo tray, but mounted it pointing FORWARD. Drilled a hole in the canopy and poked it out through there. Probably considered odd by some, but I know from previous radio experience that it's probably the absolute best place to mount it to insure long range, and I don't care much about looks.

Base-loaded antennas always have less range than a properly installed full length antenna. (quarter wavelength usually)

I put mine directly under the front radio bed, and attached it with strong double sided tape, the end of the antenna comes exactly to the front of the nose inside of the canopy... Joe
