FalconPilot Senior Heliman Location: upstate, NY
| As you may have seen in other places on RR, Curtis Youngblood came out to the Performance Hobbies NE Heli Funfly last weekend. What a GREAT Person. He took time with all of us, to look over our Helis, and fly with us. Again, He is just a good guy.
There were two notable Intrepid moments.
First, I made a way to sling load things off my Hot Rod Gasser. We mounted a RC Meat Bomber (an old Robbe parachute jumper) under the Gasser, and took off. The chopper did not know the extra 5lb was even there!!! At about 1000ft, we dropped Charlie the Meat Bomber. On the first try, his chute did not open. He survived to try again! On the second try, all went well! Charlie made a great landing at my feet, while Ray (a good friend I let fly my gasser for the jump) did 3D all the way down. What Fun!!
Second, Curtis flew a friends glow Intrepid!! After he got some small engine stuff fixed, he did a full blown, 3D show like only Curtis can!! He should really stop wasting time on the Vigors. The Bergen looked much better in the air! Thanks Juan, for allowing Curtis to fly your Intrepid!
Over all, 37 pilots with all kinds of machines.
Larry, Sorry you could not make it. I wish you could have seen Curtis fly the Intrepid. That flight will be in my mind for a long time!
