I just recently totaled my shuttleZXX do to gyro failure, but im am going to be getting a new 30 heli. How does a raptor fly compared to the shuttle. What wold be the best choise for a 3d heli. Im only going to use it until i finish learning arobatics so preferably on the cheeper side. Does anyone have a Hawk se from century, how do century helis fly?

thanx

30 helis

For an inexpensive 30 that keeps right on flying without any problems you can't beat the basic Hawk IV for only $220.00 . If you add the $22.00 ball bearing upgrade package you will upgrade it into a very long enduring, slop free, precision control system. Just check out what all the people with them have to say on the showdown forum at www.rchelicopters.org

The SE version comes with a few more items and is a great buy for the price. Bearings on everything, FRP 550 blades, two radial and one thrust bearing in each tail rotor blade grip, an all metal swashplate, a great new head with the machined head hub, a more attractive canopy and fin set, etc.

As the servo and main rotor control system is much like your ZXX, you will find it easy to understand and set up.

For 3D you will find both the SE and the standard IV very easy to set up and fly. As you already have flight experience you would probably appreciate the FRP blades so I would suggest you try the SE. If you want to upgrade to a torque tube drive system, they have a very inexpensive conversion unit available. Then you will have a 30 heli that is world class in even the most demanding backwards manoevers.

I have also been informed that they will also be launching an inexpensive Constant Tail Rotor drive system at the Toledo show. It will be an easy fit for all Hawks and Falcon heli's.

Take a serious look at these heli's, I am sure you will really like them, just as most of us who have, do.

If and when HPI starts to release the Baron again I have found the 30S to be an unbelievable high quality helo. All the guys here can't believe how stable this thing is and also the great performance. Sorry this doesn't help now. I also have a Falcon and find Century very cost effective to repair and fly. There are a few Hawks here and seem to be very accepted.

HPI and the Baron 30s

HPI will continue to back and produce the Baron!
You can get a Baron 30s from Heliproz for a great deal.
I absolutely love the machine, and for what Heliproz wants for it you can't go wrong.
Don't take my word for it read this: http://www.heliproz.com/30Baron.html

I also have a few friends that fly the Raptor 30, they are very happy with this machine as well.

It's a tough decision (did I tell you I love the Baron 30s?)

Good luck in your decision.

Hey wasup4455

I would choose a Raptor 30, with the 49bb. I have flown all of the helicopters mentioned here, and I like the Raptor the best.
