e-MS Composit Hornet > opinions on the Hornet wanted

I'm thinking of getting an MS Hornet and wanted to know what you guys that fly them think of the machine. I already fly glo helis and can aero very well so learning to fly is not an issue. If I can get the stock setup to fly well I may consider upgrading to the CP head. I'll be using an Eclipse radio with the Hitec feather Rx and Hs-55 servos.

Thanks,

Jeff

keep it light

the hornet flies great FP in stock form. when you upgrade to the CP (IMHO) you find that the tail creates huge problems at the high head speed the CP requires. I personllay think that as a CP they are worthless unless powered by lipoly (although walts videos show it CAN be doen with nimh's). check out my friends site www.deeteeenterprises.com lots of good setup tips and upgrades

I like my Hornet CP, except for the tail. I have a couple of aluminum arrow shafts heading my way ( through the mail, no need to duck) That will help resolve the issues I have with it. I think a hardended steel tail output shaft, delrin gears, and aluminum boom will work wonders.
I call mine the Cat Herder, because it's the only thing that can get the cats moving in the direction I want them to.

I think you'll enjoy the Hornet. I have owned both the CP and FP. The FP is simpler to build and set up, but is trickier to fly, particularly in forward flight. The CP is less forgiving of poor setups, but flies much better, particularly in winds. If the setup and weight is correct, they fly very nice with NiMH batts, which means even better performance with LiPos. If you're getting a FP, you might want to start off with the HS-50 servos, since they're a little lighter, and when you upgrade to the CP, you won't have to start again with new servos. My FP flew very well, once I got used to the pitching recovering from forward flight, a nemesis of FP helis.

Best of luck

Mike
