Henseleit 3DNT - Rocket - 3DMP > 3DNT gear ratio? no teeth to count?

In the manual the gear ration is stated as 7.7 for OS and 8.3 for other. I take it ours is 8.3 for the 3DNT / Webra combo we bought from Cyber heli.

How do I check this - there is no teeth on main gear?

Unless they have changed the standard kit ratio, I strongly suspect you have the 7.7 gear ratio. I beleive the original purpose of the other ratios was so you could fit small engines, such as the 60 and 70. It is just fortunate that the 8.3 ratio suits the Webra.

See Andi Gs response for the quickest way to see what ratio you have

Good luck

Hi,

or without measuring, turn the engine 8 times and look at the main gear.

If it made more than one turn it's 7.7, if less 8.3...

the calculation of circumference is:

1. totally unnecessary since you
are introducing a constant to both
terms and then dividing them.

2. will introduce an error if you simply
use 3.14 instead of the more accurate
3.1415926

So, just divide the diameter of the
two and be done w/ it.

Thanks for response. My internet was off. I counted the teeth on the motor and counted the teeth on the belt doing a complete turn and divided it – got 7.71 Set GV-1 at 7.7

I am burning to give my comments on this heli but…. I have only done slow figure 8’s some backwards and sideways flight, still running in motor. So far the tail seems good and my concerns with the boom supports being so close to each other was unfound. Must admit on the ground the boom feels more rigged than on Vigor CS. I am running a low rpm (guess 1600 - 1700) and only set it up as per manual, the 7mm on cyclic that is. At this stage it feels less responsive that my Vigor CS BUT this means nothing as I have done a lot of setup on CS with some mods. I must play with 3DNT first.

I can feel that it is a much lighter ship and it has been a while since I had this feeling in me – wishing the week over to get to the club!!!!

So far so good.
