MethylEthylinKeotone(not sure about spelling) in short really bad stuff! we had some at work and HQ made us get rid of it. it melts plastic on contact. use denatured alcahol.

Isn't the active ingredient in CA Debonder Acetone?

Yes, the major ingrediant in debonder is acetone.

But the more expensive debonders use nitromethene, and it works better. Just more expensive.

If your bolts are really gunked up soak them in some 30% over night then shake them in a can and the loctite just falls off. For the really stuborn ones just run them thru a rag after soaking.

A method that is worked really well for me is heating up the screw with a little pencil torch and then dipping it in a little cup of rubbing alcohol. Take it out, wipe it off, screw looks brand new. When I first started doing this I was a bit worried about metal fatigue but I asked around and everyone said it should be okay. And after about a year of doing it, haven't had any problems. It's fast, too.

I just soak them in acetone, then I use a wire brush on the groves. They come out looking like new.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Soaked them in CP15% over night then wiped them with some scotchbrite.
