If anyone wants to see how to open up their stock Zenoah air box to allow your carb to breath better, see my gallery for a picture or two.

I haven't done any testing to see the difference in the two air boxes.

Find enclose some more pics of the device. as you can see the stack is finished by a rounded lip that fits exactly into the last rounded furrow inside the filter. This way only the filter rubber pressure is require to keep it in place. I can take it of by hand but it´s secure enough not to lose it in flight (never since I did it six months ago)

Of course it is easier to buy from VARIO the plastic mount (with or without choke) but the air filter and the carb are not aligned and that makes lot of turbulences before the carb. not nice

See also an example of my plug state after several flights (always at a 4% oil mix). No residues. The engine is making a good combustion helped imo by a fine fuel dispersion even at high oil %.
This summer we flight at 107 º F weather temp and the engine never goes over 230º F after five mins hovering (188ºF after a FF flight)
PD the engine is a G230RC with a 26cc cylinder and the air filter the same supplied by VARIO as spare

Rich: Mine is about the same as your except no choke in it.. the carb itself has a choke so the filter box doesn't have one.

Elossam : Thanks for the pictorial illustration, now I see how you installed that K&N filter on your Velocity stack. Plug looks good.

Naomi,

I wish I had the carb with the built in choke, it would make it easier to add aftermarket filter options.

But what I have done is about the max you can go and still have an air filter that won't stay on the ground when you lift off!

CARB

I have the original carb on my g-23. Does the 603 Have a Bulb on it as well? Also Has anyone found that using the stack with the larger air cleaner helps.

I am going to put the larger air cleaner on as I agree with the above. Whats the best place/ best price to get them. Also with the 603 carb.
