I know a lot of you may know about this but at Lowe's you can buy a tool case for 24.95 that makes a super radio case plus a little side benefit the enclosed carrying strap will work on your radio.

Cases in Home Depot

I was in Home Depot by me about 2 weeks ago, and they were selling cases (not sure what they were using them for) that looked exactly like the Futaba 9Z cases. They were the same size, same locks, just no Futaba stencil on the outside.

Go to a sporting store and get a case for handguns. Mine is large enough for two radios and only cost about $15. Why spend $50 or more for the cases from Futaba and JR? That is unless you really have to have that custom aluminum looking box.

smooshed foam

hey guys, i just bought one of those cases and i think it will work great , but when you open it up the foam is pressed flat from some of the accessories inside. not a problem ,if you don`t want to wait for it to expand on its own (i waited a few hours with little change) just use your heat gun, carefully as it needs little heat to release. dibbs

I got mine at Lowes for $11.95 during a Christmas sale last year. I've seen people on E-Bay selling them for $40.00 and more.

They are an aluminum case with two latches and a key lock. They are the exact same size as Tower Hobbies radio case for two radios. Inside they have precut foam that you pull out in plugs until your radio just fits. Under the foam in the lid is a small tool holder.

tool box

I searched all over at Lowe's today and asked but could not find one of these. Went over to Home Depot and found one simular but when I got home found that it did'nt have removable foam in it (just paded adjustable compartments). Does anyone know of a supply of this type of foam?

With the Toolboxes

Mike,

I have a case that came with my 10x, and I bought one at Lowes. My Lowes does have these with the Toolboxes...

These are in boxes though. Rest of the toolboxes are just out, but these were boxed up if that helps.

Harbour Freight also has the same cases...some in boxes, some are simply plastic wrapped.

Hope this helps,
