on thing for sure, actually in the 80's I saw a california company who built super large scale cobra heli's for target aquisition etc.., it was a 30-40 footer using fiberglass bodies and big quad motors , built in california .. anyone remember this in the r/c mags? .. on the same note there are some in the swiss countries who produce them ..

Hirobo, and Yamaha, built a really large R/C heli, I dont know the name of it though, I heard it cost somewhere around $50,000.00!! . Vario, also makes some really large helis., Check them out at www.varioeast.com, ...

Big Heli

Hirobo used to make an enormous Bell 47 (or was it a Lama?). Anyway, it was a monster. Seems like the rotor span was about 8 feet. A friend of mine ended with one in a swap. I have no idea what it cost. I'm trying to remember what kind of an engine it had...I think it was a gasser. I wish I knew what became of it. We never had the nerve to try to fly it.

hirobo has renewed the giant scale lama your referring too .. similiar to the one that came out way back - a gasser.. and it's pricy too.

I'm looking for makers of gas engine light enough to go on a RC heli but bigger then 40cc. The Zenoa only makes the 23cc for the heli, too small.

Anyone know a link to the engine maker "Benzin" which I noticed is used in a lot of these big helis.

Also DNHP of Korea makes a Big Heli utilizing a 260-300cc gas engine. They sell for about $50,000us. Let me know if your interested in that. I have direct contact.

man!! These things ARE bigger than I thought!! So would bergen be good heli to get? Do they seem to be fairly exspensive to fly?

ok...well..

well,,,Im not sure if I want to go that big...(especially with the money portion of it) at least not at this point in my heli flying career. I know TT makes a 90 conversion for their 60 machine and there are plenty of 90 size engines for it... (OS / YS) BUT what I am wondering is there like a fence I am crossing moving from say, the TT 60 converted to a 90, or some like that, verses starting out straight with a 120 size machine with some other manufacturer?
