The one good thing about MinAir is they are constanty improving thier birds. They have changed the Fury already, but at least they change it AND they incorporate it into the latest kits, they dont wait for other Co. to make upgrades. I have a Vigor (great machine) and I cant believe it still comes with the same dampening system as original, You have to get the upgrade from Revolution, same with the tail casing and pitch lever for the belt drive. I think MinAir as done a great job with the Fury, really compare apples to apples and then the support factor and you will see why its so popular. There are alot of great machines, I wish I can have them all. As far as the tariffs and imports, BOO HOO. Its been happening to US companies for years. Look at the shops in Japan prices, they are obviously making money.

SHAME ON U....MINIATURE AIRCRAFT!!! I'm disappointed in miniature's attitude in regards to the mom and pop local hobby store.
From what I understand, they dropped their 2% (I think) discount if paid within x days...for more profit since they can because they took so much of the market recently. Most vendors (r/c or not) offer a discount for quick paymeny (10 days or whatever). To yank the rug out from under them was a poor decision, especially for a long term relationship.

That makes the local stores less enthused to carry their product anymore. My local store has been a huge seller/pusher/distributor of miniature since the store opened (8 or 9 +/- years). To carry the majority of the parts and make so little per part compared to hirobo and thunder tigre, etc and use up all that display space is discouraging for the owners, especially after standing behind them for years. Too bad, I hate to mail order, which is what I might need to start doing. I wish they would think b4 the "financial analysts" at miniature make major decisions....2% or 4% or whatever doesn't seem like much to u and me but when u only make 10% and have to stay competive with mail order it's a lot, square foot for square foot.

Oh well, I vented......just too bad that soon if I need a part for my heli it better be a different brand or I need to order it

Personally, I think word of mouth is very powerful in this hobby. When the local guru says Brand X is great and Brand Y junk, you are going to think twice before buying Y. Even if you think he is misinformed, you know you might need his help getting the shakes out of your brand new bird. And if you disregarded his advice, he may be unable or unwilling to take time help you out.

If, after building a heli while paying strict attention to the instructions, they always flew well, this would not be an issue. But harsh reality sets in every time you build a new type. Experienced help is priceless, and offsets a lot of other disadvantages a brand may have.

Good Luck Gary, Robbe field representation

Hi Folks
Best of luck to you Gary with MA and your 3D Electric plank (cool plank!)and electric heli endevors http://gwmp.net

Feild representation plays an important in exposing Brand x heli to the heli community at large from the grass roots. How many pilots would buy brand x if they have never seen it in the flesh, or seen it in the hands of a proficient fellow flyer? or buy brand x if there was no one to feild support them?

This is why Robbe is now going to step up to the plate and expand the Robbe USA Rep program.

Interested proficient flyers who are very active and visable in within your heli community. contact Paul @ 860-677-7276 due to the high level of interest call Paul after 4:00pm EST, (thats after the days shipments go out). or e-mail me off line for questions waltzerdesign@attbi.com

Please post the entire story, instead of your 1-sided viewpoint.
Miniature Aircraft still gives dealers the 2% cash in 10 days discount for orders of $1000.00 or more. The decision to remove that discount on smaller orders was made to alleviate a price increase, which we all would not like to see.
Miniature Aircraft has done an excellent job acting as both manufacturer and distributor of their products, so that the end user does not have to swallow the cost of products changing hands several times. Most manufacturers are not burdened with this responsibility.

Robbe Reps

I was always interested in Robbe products, but living in Canada knew I would likely never see one (therefore wouldn't buy one).

I finally travelled down to the Brook's Oregon heli meet in Sept 2000 and saw Erich Stoltz and Remy Epron absolutely ring the snot out of their Millenniums. I was sold! I went out and bought one immediately and will be buying a second shortly.

In hindsight my purchase was based on seeing sponsored reps...we need'em.

Gary Wright is in the April 2002 issue of MHW helping out Jorge Escalante. I don't know either of them but I thought I would actually post on topic for once .
