| Most definitely. The 20C two-needle carb on the 32SX is LEAGUES ahead of the old 3B carb on the 32F.
Having said that, my first Concept had a 32F and was probably the smoothest of the half-dozen Concept 30s I owned. I have always found ringed engines to be smoother than ABCs.
Two things to consider, Mike;
1. What kind of flying will you be doing? The 32SX will be superior, hands down, for hard aerobatics/3F. If no rapid engine transitions are indicated, the 32F is a great little motor.
2. Parts cost; you will need a piston, ring, and liner. A new con rod probably would be a good idea as well. And we haven't even discussed bearings yet. A new 32SX can be had for around $120. I would not be the least bit surprised to find that a piston/ring/liner for a 32F to be over half that amount, or more.
Bottom line; the 32SX is about as good & dependable an engine as you could ask for; and rebuilding those 32Fs could run into some serious change very quickly.
I have never been one to assume that just because something is newer it has to be better. But in this case...
