jason, you can use the auto thing. When you pick your amperage, either for discharging or charging, keep increasing it, past 5amps, that's where the Auto thing shows up.

Red Scholefield's review of the Triton talked about the peak detection on Nimh if I remember correctly. The Nimh program does cut off early just not as early as the FMA Supernova.
If you use the Nicd program and change the cutoff voltage and other parameters from the included instruction sheet, you get a much better charge. This has been my experience after not getting good charges on my Zagi packs.
There a link to another site that has the triton review. Has a pretty solid review, might clear up a few things.

I read that review a while ago. I believe the part about using the NiCd program on the Triton being better is utter bull****. Just my opinion, of course.

I have re-read the review and can't actually find the part you are refering to. Would you mind pointing it out to me? The only Triton review I could find on the URL you posted was this one:
