Aerobatic FAI F3C Contest > My Tempest FAI has FINALLY arrived!

After getting up at 6am NZ time to call Cindy at MA to ask what the deal was with my heli only to be told there wasn't much she could do about it until a month had elapsed (it was sent on the 29th) I was starting to dispair...

I was about to ring the distributor and tell him that I couldn't afford to wait any longer (competitions coming up) and that I was going to get it from Cyberheli, only for him to ring me this morning and tell me it had just arrived and he's personally delivering it to me tonight .

Fate has brought rain to us this weekend, perfect building weather, the stars are lining up, all is now right with the world...

Simon!!! Where ya been man, I haven't seen an e-mail come in for some time now telling me of the latest update to your site...or maybe it just seems like a long time, you going to be having a new article any time soon? I read them inside and out while I sit here at work bored to tears

EDIT: Oh ya, grats on getting your Tempest, I except a full writeup on it ASAP

Dan,
I hear you, believe me I realise how long it's been .

I've been working on a couple of articles though, which I'll try and get out this coming week.

The real reason why it's been delayed is I keep thinking the Tempest was going to arrive 'any day now' and 'any day now' turned into weeks.

The plan is to do a full comparison of the Tempest vs the CS as I'm building it up, but that will have to wait till next newsletter.

Went and collected the big box yesterday. All looks pretty good, impressed with the quality of the machining.

Was a little disappointed to see that the text in the instruction manuals is seperated from the diagrams. However, spent a few hours last night reading through both and familiarising myself with it and I don't think it will present a problem.

After reading about how crucial it is to get the tail exactly right (lest it come back and bite you in the Mastercard), I'm a little nervous about that.

Dropping the canopy off tommorrow to get it painted up in the 'fleet colours'.

Will keep a diary of how I get on, will get started tonight.

Keep us posted Si, I'm thinking about selling the CS and going with a Tempest 3D or an Extreme at the end of the season here. Winter project. I'm wanting to read the article your going to do on the CS and the Tempest.
