How many of you are using the GV-1 on your 3D NT's?

What sensor are you using? i.e magnet or optical

I use GV-1s in both of mine...

...and don't see the point of spending extra money on the optical sensor when the magnetic one works fine.

Check my website for pictures of the install.

i have used it at first with magnets but had difficulties to let my engine run smooth

now i fly without gv1 and for me it's much better, when hovering the engine runs smooth and rather slow and when i need power it runs faster, so no high running engine with closed carburator for coming in hard

it only takes some time to set a proper throttle curve, or just send your campaq to Jan Henseleit and he will copy it for you

I had a GV-1 fitted with the optical sensor - I say 'had' because it's been nothing but trouble these last few weeks.

I posted the problem in the 'Radio' section but didn't get any clues.

When the problems started I began to revert back to the 'good ole fashion' throttle curves and quite like them again now!

I'm not rubbishing the GV and in fact still run them in a couple of other models - I like the way they work (WHEN they work) but you know how it goes 'the more you have on the model, the more there is to go wrong' so I've decided on the next re-build, hopefully tomorrow night now I've got all the bits I need from last weekend's crash, to leave the GV out of it.

Cheers
Richard.

Thanks guys.

Differing opinions?

When I eventually get mine!! I think I will fly without to start with and then when things are nice and stable look towards trying one.

Cheers

DangerousDick...

I think I had a similar problem to yours at the weekend in the newer of my NTs which I am still breaking in. Basically it sounded like the throttle was pulsing up and down under the GV-1 control. I leaned the mixture a little (it was still rich), and the problem went away immediately.
