e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Lipol questions

I've just got a couple of e-tech 2C 1200 Mah packs and a westek charger for my hummingbird. The charger goes upto 1000Mah, should I charge them at this rate? And how do I know when the packs have got to low on power, so as not to damage them? Should I just stop flying when I notice a decrease in power? If I use a multimeter to test the remaining voltage what voltage should I not go below? Thanks for your help!

1000ma (1A) is perfectly fine for the E-Tech 1200 cells - it's what I use.

If you don't have a programmable low voltage cutoff, then fly until you see the power really sag, then land. When you pull the battery off the Hummingbird and measure, it should be no less than 6V for a 2 cell pack (3 volts per cell). Under load it can drop to 2.7 or even 2.5, but will come up to 3v per cell after the load is removed.

Just check the voltage the first few flights and get a feel for when it's time to land by how the heli acts.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, just what I needed to know. Didn't want to wreck them on the first go! 20 minute hovers, here I come!
