e-Ikarus Piccolo-Eco 8/16 > Main motor pinion slipping

Hey, I just got my piccolo flying and I've crashed about 15 times!!! LOL but I have SOME control over it now and I am finally able to take it up. But when I was finally getting the hang of it and it seemed 10 times more stable all of the sudden, the main motor pinion slipped. I've tried all 3 pinions and all three have slipped. Why did this happen and how do I fix it? Also, this is about the umpteenth time I've asked this, WHAT BATTERY SHOULD I USE (why can't anyone answer this?)? Right now I'm tethering it and I want to purchase a NiCd. Thank you!

Main Motor Pinion Slipping

A simple fix is to glue the pinion gear to the pinion shaft using thin CA. Use just the smallest amount being sure not to get any into the motor. If it runs back into the motor your motor will probably be ruined. I had the same problem since the plastic gear wasn't very tight. As far as batteries, I use the ETech 1200 High Capacity Li-Poly from Bishop Power products. They give 20 minutes plus flights and weigh less than the standard 7 or 8 cell packs of Nimbs. Hope this helps!

Happy Flying
