Scale Model RC Helicopters > scale retracts configuration

Hello. I guess everyone has migrated here now! I just upgraded to a new JR 8103 and plan on installing a 2 servo retract system in a 30 size Century Bell 222. What is the optimum switch and channel configuration I should use with this system? Will a simple y-splitter on one channel handle both servos? I've read about a servo reverser but am not familiar with it. I'm going to use a Hitec 8 ch supreme Rx.
Any suggestions?

you can do it a few ways . for a .30 or .60 , you can go with one servo with dual linkage to save weight or use 2 separate futaba micro servos for the gears using the Y + extension ..

for the .60 I would normally use 2 regular servos with Y connector + extension .. but it'll have more drain on the battery . go with a higher battery capacity in this case.. 4.8v 2000+ma and up

you could also have a separate battery using a micro switch instead of using the recievers battery but that will take alittle more work to install , plus there will be extra weight added ..

I have the Century Bell222 ARF. I used the two cheapest Hitec 422 servos with the Y connector. They work great and have no problem.

Retracts?

I have mechanical retracts in my Bell 222 (30) there is one retact servo and the linkage works very well, there is a pic in my gallery. If it would help I could try to get a couple of pics of the set-up and e-mail them to you.

Bell 222 Retracts.

Hi tisrich, I tried to e-mail you several photos but they were bounced each time. I have uploaded a few close-ups, I hope this gives you some ideas.

The pics show the position of the servo wheel in the deployed/retracted positions.
There is a shot of the nose gear as well. All three operate together at a nice speed. Note how the left gear wire is bent? It wraps around the servo wheel to clear it. I can't take credit for this set-up, my friend whom I bought this heli from did all the work....including the paint.
There are several more shots in my gallery, click display all and see if the other shots are helpful.

Hey BladeRunner thanks for the pics. They are very helpful. BTW I doublechecked my email address under my profile and it is correct.
Thanks for your help.
