Hello all - I currently run an online Hobby Shop, and I also work my regular full time job as an Electrical Engineer for a Bio-medical company. The good news is the Hobby Business is doing well. The bad news is, I am to the point where it is getting impossible to find the time to do both the Hobby Business, and work full time. So if any of you guys or gals know of any part-time positions (20-25 hours a week) in the Los Angeles, or Orange County area of California, please contact me at steve@dreamhobbies.com
I can email my resume upon request. thanks
The position does not necessarily have to be in Engineering or Electronics, I have a host of other skills I can offer. However, I do prefer something professional.

Regards - Steve Campbell

Out of curiousity..why not sell the online business and stick with a "career" so to speak...?

Hmmm...

... being a business owner is a career unto itself.

I'm sure a majority of us would jump at the chance to work in our hobbies.

Steve, if I hear of anyone needing part time help, I'll give you call.

The reasons being, I love the Hobby alot, and owning a business is much more profitable than working for Corporate. So you can say that my primary income right now is from the Hobby Shop, and that is why I am electing to work part-time. Some will say, well why not quit working all together, and do the Hobby Business full-time. My answer is, my Hobby business is not to the point where it would take an 8-hour day to run it, so there would be alot of wasted unproductive hours if I did not hold some sort of part-time position somewhere. Also, I have invested too much time and money (almost 3 years now) into the business to just sell it) thanks

Forgive the intrusion, but I believe he created this thread to find work, not further praise He knows how much we appreciate him.

Keep the job and get help with the hobby shop. I know people and they don't do it for the money, trust me. The best setup is collecting a pension from a good job like you have, and running the hobby shop after retirement. I plan on doing that after I retire. Anyone selling a waterfront boat related business in 2010? Dealership and/or "FBO" would be fine!

If it is an online hobby shop, I'm sure a significant percentage of workload has to be in processing orders and answering questions and other type of off-site work.

There must be some work involved in checking and answering emails, updating stock on the web page, etc.

Can one or more of us help in that way?

Glenn.

Thanks for all the nice replies and offers for help. However, I placed the thread just to find out if anyone knows of any part-time jobs available. Keep in mind, that I have other ventures that I am pursuing besides the Hobby Business so a full-time job will not cut it any longer. thanks
