| Imagine if heli's had parts made out of magnesium? It would seriously put a damper on how we would put out fires. Magnesium reacts to water so, when it when it burns, adding water to it really makes a big fire. You would need an expensive Class D extinguisher. Remember, things could always be worse. I'm a firefighter too and seen many people ctinge at a car fire (especially if it's a classic car) when someone take a dry chemical extinguisher to the engine compartment. Dry Chem is not good for carburators.
