| gasserYou'll get good performance out of that motor, but it will take a couple of gallons of gasoline for it to settle down.
If it didn't come as standard equipment, look at getting the h/d front transmission upgrade. Also consider using the s/s exhaust system that MA sells. The motor likes it, its quiet, and it doesn't offer as much wind resistance.
The finished model will weigh around 13 lbs, maybe a little more. It will do most all the manuevers that a lighter weight machine will do, just a little bit slower because of the weight.
It will be somewhat more stable in wind though for the same reason.
Consider using higher torque metal gear servos. Although they will develop slop in them quicker than those with plastic gears, if you plan to throw this thing around they won't strip in a heavy loaded maneuver.
If you happen to rebuild it for any reason, consider putting the 32.5" tail boom on it and run longer main blades (700-720mm). It will really help the auto performance. |
