Hey there, very impressed with the HB...flew my friends machine the other day, and I want one. I'm making the jump (backwards?) from a brushelss CP Hornet with all the goodies, and now that I fly nitro also, I want a micro only for indoor flight, and fixed pitch makes far more sense...more durable, longer flight times, etc. I have etec's on the way, and I have a spare Pheonix 10, but what motor should I get? Razor V2, or Astro 010 (if astro, what turn is right for the HB...8t, 10t, or 14t?). I'm told my Hacker B20-22s wont turn fast enough in a HB and will overheat.....true or false? I want the ultimate setup, and I think the Astro is probably the best, but how many turns?

Thanks

With a Kv of 4000 RPM/V on the hacker, it would make a great motor for the little Hummingbird. Use an 8 tooth pinion and 2 lithium poly or 7 NiMH cells though. I use a Razor RZ350 with a Kv of 4200 and 8 tooth and have plenty of power and long flights.

I am not sure I would call the Astro the ultimate setup - I am not bashing them at all - I have a couple of 010 motors and they are great, but the Hacker and Razor are capable of more power.

If you can, get a set of Hornet fixed pitch main blades and use them with the Hummingbird adn the hacker - I can bet you will be happy with that setup as it would be very similar to what I run.

Good luck with it and let us know how it goes!
