e-Century Hummingbird - Swift > How to fix/glue carbon shaft

I flew my dragonfly today morning for the first time. This is my second dragonfly. I broke the carbon leg.
Can anybody tell me how to stick it back together. I tried CA but it doesn't stick. I don't want to buy a new skid. I completely stuff the first dragonfly leg because I glued them to the main frame. Now the second one broke on the day. This heli is driving me mad and I think I need a big room like an indoor basketball court to fly this.

My second dragonfly actually came with the 370 motor.

I was constantly glueing my skids back together, until I replaced the carbon struts with 1/16" music wire from the local hobby shop. I cut the CF struts off right at the skid (most of them had broken off), then drilled a 1/16" hole down thru the skids and glued the music wire struts in. I have not had a problem since. The music wire is not as stiff as the CF, and has more spring. It is also a little thinner than the 2mm CF, so it pops out of the frame easier in a crash.

I actually followed your tips last time with my first dragonfly. Now it's pretty strong but sligthly heavy. I had no choice because I glued the skid to the main frame and I couldn't get them out So I made 2 v shape leg from piano wire that fit on the outside frame and I used cable ties to keep them in place. So word of advise, Don't glued the leg to the main body.
The tail motor died on the weekend so I can't fly it at the moment.

That is why I decided to move all the radio gear to the second dragonfly I just arrived few days before. Surprisingly pleased that I comes with a 370 motor I think one of the leg was broken on the first flight. I didn't even crashed that hard maybe just bad material. I mnaged to fix it last night using a plastic pushrod from left over aeroplane material. I pushed 2 parts of the leg into a plastic pushrod and its fixed.

Now I am waiting for my Corona heli to arrive. I can't even hover properly with my Hummingbird but I am already addicted. I am selling my airplane gas engines etc. I am moving away from gas to electric and will concentrating on heli . My wife ask me if I am going to spend twice the amount on heli when I get the Corona. I better be nicer to her.

The original main rotor blades that came with my Hummingbird were made of bad material. I had previously read how others were phrasing how strong the blades were, but mine were so brittle the first glancing blow against the floor shattered one. I put one of the blades from my crash kit on to replace it, but it had less pitch then other remaining original, so I thought I should try and twist some of the pitch out of the original, but as soon as I started to twist it, it snapped apart in my hand.
I kept the pieces and later when I had a very hard wack that took a big chip out of one of the replacement blade I was able to do some testing of the pieces of both the original blades and one of the replacement blades. It was very obvious that there was some sort of batch or possibly age problem with the original blades, because they broke apart like egg shells compared to the one I got out of the crash kit.

I experience similar thing with you. My first dragonfly didn't fly and still doesn't. I tried to twist the blade etc still not working too well. Then I bought a second one and it came with the 370 motor as standard which I didn't know. It flies from day one with no problem. I never have problem taking off with the new one and I learn to hover with it. Then I broke the tips of the main rotor and I replaced it with the rotor from the first heli. It didn't fly!!! I tried to twist clockwise then I tried anti clockwise etc with no joy. Finally I put the original back and cut the tips and make them as balance and possible. I ended up cutting 2" on each tips and it still fly. I think they are variations with the material or production process. I still don't know why I can't get it to fly with the other rotor. Looks the same to me.
