Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > Breaking in New Engine

I am about to break-in my first engine on the bench, but before I do so I would like to request some info.

The engine is an OS 32SX ABC.

1. What head temperature should I be aiming for?

2. Ray's Heli Manual talks about four cycle/two cycle. Could someone please tell me how I can identify when the engine is at 4 cycle and when it is at 2 cycle.

3. I am really keen to get this exactly right. Does anybody have a simplified procedure that they can describe to me? My bird is a Raptor 30.

Apart from the engine and blade balancing, does anybody have any useful tips they can pass on to me.

Grateful thanks

I am currently doing the same thing. I have the os .32 with the 9/4 prop and I just ran my 5th tank. I am not sure about the head temp but I can tell you one thing I had a problem with, the idle screw, NOT the high speed needle. Turn the small screw all the way in and back it out two turns. Mine was set from the factory about 3 1/2 turns and I could not get it to go from idle to high speed smoothly with out dieing. The manual said the screw would be set close but they were way wrong. The setting will change with each engine, but this should get you close.

Keep reading here and other places and you will learn from these guys quickly, I know I am.
