Man, I am so tired of my HB. Ever since I switched out the stock motor for a 280BB, I have no control over the tail. I have tried many different pinion setups with no luck. It spins like the gyro is hooked up backward. I downgraded back to the stock blades, and it helped for 1 pack, then it did it again. Is the gyro bad? Is the HB bad? I maen, it's not like the 280 is that powerful, people are flying with a lot more power, what am I not seeing?

Wow, the ground was closer than I thought.

It is possible that the hummingboard is bad, or the gyro is bad, but the most likely thing to go is the tail motor. Have you tried replacing the tail motor?

It is a good indication the tail motor has chit the bed. Take it from me I have had problems with my tail motors ever since I bought mine. I recently upgraded my machine with the high authority motor. It was working fine until I displayed my stupidity and decided to take it apart. The high authrity motor is a really good upgrade. If that doesnt fix your problem it may be the hummingboard. At $10.00 for a good motor it is definately better to try instead of a new hummingboard $40.00

This is the cheapest I have found and you get 2 propellers with it. There is a guy that has said he has had good results by using the propellers as a direct drive setup. "No Gears" just the motor and propeller.

It makes good sense to use the propellers as they are designed to run at high RPM for thrust. The other way the motor is still running at high RPM only its turnig a larger propeller threw a gear reduction.
Stevens AERO makes a good tail motor bracket. I made one at home with 1/8th plywood with my dremal tool. Check out my gallery.
Hope this helps

On my hummingboard the tail motor pins were marked backward. Try swapping your tail motor plug around.
