(Quick note: I do not have a radio...I'm a total newbie to anything other then 27ghz cars. )

Hey everyone. ^_^

I'm planning on getting involved with R/C helis. I'll be buying a Hummer, defenitly. However...

1) Should I go with a complete flight kit that includes everything I need, or should I get the basic setup and buy a transmitter, reciever, and crystal(s)? (Plus training gear, heatsinks, and maybe an extra battery.)

2) If the latter, which radio should I get? I've got around a $350 budget to start with, more later for upgrades.

3) How long does the stock battery take to fully charge?

4) It seems people have problems with the stock motor. Should I get the 370 or other motor asap? If so, which tail motor should I get?

5) Any other comments/suggestions?

first, go with a combo kit ou will have all you need, or take an transmitter and sub micro servo(hitec hs55) pico recever the gws one is nice.

the stock batterie take 1.5 h to charge, and the upgrade for century 370 motor was the perfect one for start the stock motor will last about 4 hour. the 370 las long i have about 19 h on it no lost of power.

you can buy better chager an it will take 15 to 20 min to charge the batterie. but the 2 link on the swach plate on the 2 other ball on the swach plate. after you able to hover, put an head stiffner ,, and it will be ok for the next step.

MindBlade take a look at my post . hope it helps. go with three batts.... and use the 800mAh ones.... I am using a Hitec CG-340 to charge my batts.... so far so good.... no probs.... but I won't advise doing a 15 or 30 min charge at 2-3Cs... I wait for 1 hour.... That's to preserve the batt's shell life..

Should I get a better tail motor with the 370? Or will the heatsink work?

And which 800mAh batteries?

Hey Mindblade,
I believe the new kits are shipping with the 370 motor now. You might want to hold off on that part of the list.

Unless I'm missing something, that's the $7.50 Part HH118. (From helihobby)

BTW, where can I buy the Carbon Fiber blades?
