Hi,
I have a Feda Dragonfly which I heard is pretty similar to the Hummer.....

After Three weeks of an average of 1 to two flights a day I can finally hover tail-in and take some wind..... May I know how to go to side-in and nose -in with out causing too much damage? Suggestions and Comments Welcome....

Tips:
My current Feda or 'Hummer' is set up with the following:
Head Stiffner
Pitch adjustors ( for blade tracking as well as increasing pitch )
The new 370 motor ( it's better, doesn't really over heat and draws lesser current than the Speed 300= longer duration )

B2C:-
For your confirmation, I have tried running the new 370 with the stock tail motor... it gave way after three days... The B2C I would say is not fantastic compared to if you used the longer IPS high auth tail motor but it's more steady now..... and the flight times are longer.... most noticeable on the original 600mAh batts..... Beware of the B2C though, You'd have to cut of about 1-2mm of the shaft (or motor axle) cos it's longer than the stock... : I cut of too much... but am still flying ok.....
I also balanced the main and tail blades..

I also moved the batt packs as far forward as I could.....

Oh.. I also used a 3mm wheel retainer as a shaft collar..... That was only tampered on one end..... I found that on full throw the swash actually hits the top edge of the shaft collar so I removed the rotor head, spooled up and proceeded to chamfer or taper the edges ......Doing this gave a better response and constant rpm ( it used to drag at full throw) when I used full throw on the cyclics....

a note for the cyclics, i found the Futaba s3107s micro servos that came with my Feda package had arms that were short so the swash wasn't completely level.... I bought HS-55s to replace them ... the stock arms fit to a T... 100% fit on the swash ( Feda and Hummer are the SAME ) . In comparsion another friend in our feda flying group using Futaba s3107 said the response was much faster!!!!)

Hope this helps...

Cheerio.

Help

Well first off welcome to the wonderfull world of micro helicopters.

I run a website full of information on the Century Hummingbird:
www.electricmicro.com

there are tips and videos, and pictures you can even buy replacement parts from my page now.

about hovering and flying nose in.. well now your getting brave.

here is how I learned to make the move..

and it going to take you about two weeks to do it but you will thank me later..

first you need to learn to hover rightside and leftside in for a full pack!

I mean you have to be good enough to take off turn your heli to the right hold a hover and point the nose right or left for a full pack..

now once you can do that and it take some practice you then will practice turning to the right moving forward a couple feet turning to the left so now your pointing nose to the left moving forward a couple of feet turning to the right again moving a couple of feet forward and so on and so on, you will be doing mini figure 8's draw it on a peace of paper you will see you can do it and never go nose in well a little bit and ways once you have the mini 8's done try doing them while always moving once you master this your ready to go tail out because you have tought your self without knowing it how to recover to the left and right..

just remember this and your going to get it faster then you think..
