MAX NITRO Senior Heliman Location: Armadale Western Australia
| These are upgrades I have done, and to my personal liking.
1. K&S Paddles Increased cyclic rate, for 3D
2. K&S Flybar 500mm long. Shorter than standard flybar, stainless steel more rigid again great for 3D.
3. Longer (extended) ball links on the main blade grips JRP994005
.Matching the head dimensions and mechanical dynamics of the Vigor Standard. Has better pitch authority from the mixing arms good for all flight performance.
4. All metal swash plate Better swash control and precision due to rigidity over the plastic one, less slop and better wearing, great for all types of flight. not sure what the part no is.
5. Metal washout base JR#96039 less wear and slop in the long run, more precision for a longer period over the plastic.
6. Vigor Cs mixing arms JRP 960249 just because they are ballraced.
7. Metal front tail belt pulley JR#60322 The plastic one can overheat with constant high speed pirouetting and flex off the base, result loss of tail control!
8. K&S One piece flybar control arm Convenient alignment of flybar control arms, more rigid, less prone to slippage of the flybar. Not sure what the part no is.
9. NHP Razors or any type of good carbon blades, for obvious reasons. More rigidity in manoeuvres and better inertial properties, you know the rest....
With most of the above upgrades you basically have a Vigor Standard with eCCPM!
10. Ricks Heli's 'O' ring dampner upgrade system, look at the JR Vigor link in Ricks R/C Helicopters website. Also do the dremel mods to the head to relieve binding.
11. make sure all swashplate balls on the inner ring are extended, not just on the hiller side of the swash. The 'Bell' side needs to be extended for more cyclic pitch.
12 change the bushes in the flybar carrier for bearings. Sorry again I don't know part numbers for the bearings, but they should be easily sourced from a bearing specialist.
Most of the upgrades listed above doesn't make the Venture 60 a more stable heli. Just more manouverable for 3D.
As a standard out of box heli it is an entry level 60, however with these upgrades make it better than the standard Vigor because it is a eCCPM heli and it is light, at about 9.5Lb. However after these upgrades it costs about the same. |
