What about gliders?Any cliffs, hills or bluffs near you?
Try foam combat wings. They're a pleasue to fly & a rush to try knock down 10 others in the air. I've the Zagi 3C as seen below. Quite a few members here have 'em.

If you have a need for speed, try Dynamic Soaring - 150mph with a foamie, I kid you not. No engines, wind only. 200mph with a CF sailplane. I have the Bluto 56 for this from www.northcountyflyingmachines.com Haven't had a chance to build it though. You can see videos on that site.
Funnily enough, I found out about DS from JK's site; www.jkheli.com/gliders/gliders.htm There's a video & of him & Curtis Dsoaring.
I fly 'em when it's too windy for helis. Even if there's no wind, I use heaps of rubber shock cord to bungee launch the wings up to maybe 100mph & then straight up 300-400ft on inertia alone! |
