Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Boom supports too long?.

My fury expert 60 instructions say the horizontal fin mount should be 216.0 mm from the end of the boom. Has anyone had to cut the support tubes to keep this distance correct. If I use my supports uncut the fin mount will only be about 135.0mm from the end. Makes me wonder if I got Fury extreme tubes in my kit?. Thanks

My uncut boom supports from my Fury mount up at 165mm from the end of the boom. As David said, there is no specific reason to cut them as long as you can get the fin clearance. I don't use the stock fin and I didn't want to cut the tubes, so I just mounted an extra fin mount to move the horizontal forward a little. The farther back those braces go, within reason, the better they support. You're going to be OK in either case.

I used my boom supports uncut, and my horizontal fins clears my t/r blades. Its always a good idea to dry fit the parts before permanently gluing everything together - if your t/r blades clear, you're good to go.
