Rick maybe you can run a hotter plug to help burn the higher oil content.

Make sure you get all the pieces...

Looking nice out

I want to come out for a little ski plane action, Scriber. What time are you going out? The temp is up to 30 and the trees ain't shaking and quaking!

Mike, thanks for the suggestions. The nitro is added to what? Or maybe I should ask, what is 0% nitro fuel? It's alcohol, right? Then oil added for lube, and varying percentages of nitromethane for extra power? Does that sound right? So a gallon of 20% nitro with 20% oil could be diluted to 10/10 by adding a gallon of straight alcohol? All is moot anyway. There are appropriate fuels available. In fact, BYRON makes a blend called "Supertigre premium" which is 10 and 10 especially for big tiger motors. Also, I have discovered that many car fuels have content more in line with what I need. So, I will find it eventually, even if I have to get a byron dealer to order me a case. If you, or anybody, finds something I might be able to use, let me know.

So who'e going to put on boots and hit the field today?

I was actually thinking about tomorrow or monday when it warms up a bit. I was going to see if I can pick up the trojan park flyer on the way up and just fly out of the box.

Today, tomorrow, whenever. You can fly that model but remember 2 things- you will need to charge the batteries (and bring batteries for the transmitter) and you may not be able to get a ROG takeoff. We are still pretty snowy here.

What I saw was some snappy heli flying and some fun with Lily's plane! I did hovers, rolls, loops and touch and goes. On the second flight, the vertical stab let go and I almost lost it! She went spiraling toward the ground. I cut the throttle and had some control, managed a controlled glide back to the runway and a rough but upright landing. Whew!

The runway was covered with hardpacked icy snow. Skis were great but wheels would be fine too. However, if the temp rises and it gets soft, forget the wheels! Not a problem today, but I hear it's supposed to get warmer tomorrow.

Lost the C 47

Went to the High school this morning and got the C 47 up. It was flying great. Then I flew it into a light pole. Oh well. It's too bad because I liked that plane.

It's pretty cold and nasty out, so I'm not planning to go to the field. Anybody else going out?

Thats a tough way to ball one up.! I think every light pole in that school yard has been hit at least 3 times... or more.

(Hey.....who put that light pole in my way.)

Yeah, I'm mildly bummed, AL. I flew right into it! What a dummy. Nose on, full power and way up near the top. The nose pretty much broke off in pieces and it fluttered down. Funny thing was it pulled itself out and kind of pancaked the landing! But it's totaled. No biggie. I had fun with it and learned some, and there are plenty more to trash where that one came from. Speaking of which...

The Aeromaster is ready to maiden.

My son finally got here to help me get the beast up on the CG machine. I am pleased and somewhat shocked to be able to say that the balance is about as perfect as it can be with ZERO added weight nose or tail! I am shocked and very happy. The all up weight, dry, is 17.5 lbs. I've got a big fat 18 by 6 master airscrew on the front, and I'm putting a spinner on it. The control throws came out pretty good and I've got low rates programmed in. Just for ha has I put the incidence meter on and the wings match at zero degrees. Bring on the warm weather and the Joe Nall!

Hey Scorfy! Did you get your Nall package?

I'll tell you now, I hope to maiden her on the 1st nice day that's coming up, tho so far I haven't found any fuel. I may find a gallon of car fuel with the right oil content. The nitro is less important. Or maybe I should just follow my usual policy of 15% and not worry about the oil. After all, it works fine in my supertigre 46 thats on the Pitts.

It's not the extra nitro I worry about. It's the oil. Supposed to be bad for it over 12%. My fuel is 18%

Whats the "Alley Cat"? The T'craft?

Who's going to the WRAM show on Saturday?
