Both

If you got 'em, fly 'em!

Hell, I'd bring a blimp if I had one.

I was diggin on that blimp-cam with the twin G23 gassers and photo pod mount. I think it was about $30,000. I have not come across the link lately, but I remember it being pretty darn cool!

It would be great to show up at the field with a 40ft long model of the deriggible from Led Zepplin 4 album cover (was it 4?) or the Hindenberg.

But I digress....

Lookin' foward to the stick time!

Talk Talk Talk!

Holy cow! I miss checking the boards 1 day and there's 2 new pages! Do all helimen talk so much? Sorry I missed the "rain Show" on Sunday. That tent looked cool Sar! Flying is fun, but hunting means meat. Don't be too surprised if I miss a few over the next few weeks. I got out Sunday afternoon and stuck a big doe! I couldn't find her before dark, so I went back in the morning. No blood, no sign, but I wandered around long enough to find her and now she's hanging in the yard. I damn near died dragging her. Wish I had a skycrane to airlift her out.

Anyway, just wanted you guys to know I had a productive weekend! LOL
BTW, you talking about flying Wednesday. Where will you be and what time?

Hey Rick, okay I won't be surprised, tis the season!

Hey guys, this is the video Mike shot off my ZAGI. He was using a YAGI antenna pointed at the ZAGI and it seemed to work okay. The quality was pretty good all things considered, The video below is maybe about 60-70% of the original quality. Sorry for the music, I did this at around 2:30 AM

OUCH

We are just going to chill out and fly whatever works at the Rondout Field. It is of 209 in Accord just south of 213 on airport Rd. Aroun 1 or 2pm.

I am going even if it is crapy out, the weather is calling for 30% chance of showers and overcast at 40degF. Sounds good to me.

hey all you ouch guys: first, i don't wanna look back thru 11 pages and i forgot--do you meet on both days on the weekend or just sundays at new paltz? second, and it's uncomfortable trying to say this without sounding like an egomaniac, but you have people at your disposal, like me and rob and bob, who have crashed and burned and crashed and learned a lot longer than most of you. everybody on r/r emphasizes the importance of a simulator to learn how to fly. i agree completely but another worthwhile (and much cheaper) investment to complement the sim would be a buddy cord that's compatible with our radios. i've crashed 3 times in the last year--1 to dumb thumbs and 2 to my tail letting go. but i've seen at least a dozen crashes that i could have saved if the pilot had been corded to me. advice: buy a cord, let us help you. i have never corded another helicopter because (i presume) new pilots are too independent or they don't realize that i can save their ship, explain what they did wrong, and let them try it again until they get it right--without picking up the pieces. i would have given my left nut to cord a competent pilot back when i was crashing every week. we're here for you guys, so use us.

Hey Lawnmowerman

I was going to ask you to buddy for me just as you may have don for Sar, but driving down to 416 was getting to be a pain. Anyhow I am in agreement with the buddy box thing and if Peeeeeeetr still has my setting in his radio I would love to him or you (Bill) to get me into foward flight.

I guess gluing a spacebar onto my transmitter won't do the job would it?

ed, i never buddied with sar as far as i recall. i also remember that your cord wasn't compatible with my 9c that time up in new paltz. anyone with a compatible futaba 9c cord is welcome to hook up. it will only take 15 minutes to do the set up between radios.

Heya Bill, the guys seem to meet mostly on Sundays, something about a real life, families, etc outside of helicopters. *ducks*

The buddy box is an excellent idea and you guys definetly lead in the experience department, that's a very generous offer and I think some folks should take you up on it. (Count me in, now that I can actually bring it in near me for landings instead of backing it in from waaay out I'd like to try some new 3D'ish things, and the safety net of an experienced pilot would make me a lot more comfortable with trying new stuff)

I have been working on finding a buddy box for my 8103, but it looks like jack33 has offered one up if needed, I will still keep my eyes out for one though, have some friends I'd like to throw the switch on

I might have an adapter from old futaba -> new, I'll see what I can find!
