I havn't bought a new heli yet but I think that I am on the right Track. I thought about going to a 50 size hawk se 2 and selling one of my Raptors to buy me a new motor and better servos for it.(I don't have any 50 size motors).

Gordie,

Lightweight blade grips? Never seen those; one would imagine they're no longer available? And I've got Pro 1 paddles with all five weights in there, so that isn't helping.

Oh, well. If the wider blades don't alleviate the situation, I'll start paring ounces where I can. I really like the way this little critter looks (that glass canopy was worth all the hassle) and flies, but ya gotta be on your toes, for sure.

Kevin, I would second the recommendation for a Sceadu. A flying buddy just got his going, and it is quite an impressive plastic ship for the money. I would not hesitate to buy one if I wanted another plastic machine. Raptors are all the rage, I know; but the Sceadu has a little class...

Correct

Steve,
Yes, these light grips were discontinued YEARS ago when we got the larger reinforced grips. I just happened to have a set left and they are perfect for the 30. You can lighten this model, I saw Wayne Mann do it years ago by drilling holes in EVERYTHING. He had a main gear that looked like Swiss Cheese and the graphite frames had so many holes in them, it was a wonder it stayed together... but it weighed 6 lbs 10 oz.

On a dog sled team, if you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.

I'm not that desperate yet; but it's early...

Heli recomendation

K & B,

You said you thought of pulling some gear from "one of.." your Raptors. Well, how about this idea.

Sell everything you can but keeping one of the Raptors running and go for the REAL deal. A Fury Expert. I finished mine(60 size) up a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It is sooooooo smooth and powerful with a .61 WC.

I have 9204's on everything. No interaction problems noted and that CCPM is sweet. When you hover it just sits there but if you let it rip look out!!

I am sure that other Fury owners will tell you the same but you should consider making your next purchase a 60. Sell some equipment if you have to. It will be WELL worth your effort.

Its going to be fun to hit the flying "circuit" and see how many Furys are out there. It goes in waves - Vigors, Milles, Freyaa, Raptors, and now Furys.

Really, the helis have evolved so that there are really no "bad" helis, just different levels of "good"
