JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Buying a JR Venture

I was thinking of buying a Venture and have read past posts on its problems, gear rub, skid mounts and replacing the engine mount. Is the Venture a good first helicopter even with its problems? I bought a Concept 30DX from a friend years ago when I was in the Army he flew it once I never flew it due to little free time. The Concept is now outdated due to parts and price. Will the Venture be the same as the Concept in a year or two or is it the future as far as entery level copters. I have looked at the Piccolo and Corona but the Piccolo seems fragile and the Corona seems limited as far as performance. I believe both would require more money in the long run due to batteries, motors, speed controlers etc. I like that JR has its own line of radios, kits, and gyros so compatablity is good. Besides I just love the engine wine and the smelI of nitro. I thought of getting the JR662 radio and the CSM SL560 gyro because of less weight and added gyro amp. Are the new CSM gyros better or equal to the JR gyros and whats a good silent muffler for the OS engine? Any help and suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
Jason

have been flying a venture 30 for a few months now and have done a few upgrades to it one being the engine mount but other than that upgrade none of the other stuff I have upgraded on it has been the fault of the copter it was more of a lets spend some money and put some aluminum parts on it. The venture usese alot of parts from the Ergo line so it looks like parts will be around for a while to come JR tends to cross over as many parts as they can from one copter to the other.
I am using the JR 550 T gyro and 8103 radio on mine.
The next upgrade will be a good set of blades for it.
If you have any questions feel freee to e-mail me I will try to help you out.

I have also been flying the Venture for the past couple of months with a CSM gyro and have had no problems at all, very smooth and stable and am enjoying learning how to fly very much

I fly the Venture-Two things I would say to buy would be the Futaba 401/9253 gyro combo and most importantly get the TT39 instead of the os 32.Way more power!OS is very marginal in this copter.I am very happy with my Venture. It is not a 3d powerhouse but it will get you looping, rolling, flipping, and inverted with no problem.Parts are reasonable and you can get them anywhere.
