Another newbie question....
I have about a good month on the sim (G2). I have tried the different heli's and I have found it more fun to fly with the 60's. I enjoy having the extra power. Now when I have the real thing out there I'm sure I scared sh$^&less until my confidence grows. So my question is should I go ahead and get the larger model or should I stick with the original plan of going with the 30??

We've just discussed it not too long ago about what to get initially.....
Here is the link:http://www.runryder.com/showtopic.h...69&topicid=5345

You'll find that the opinions are different on this matter. I've started with a 30 and upgraded to a 50 when it became available. I wish the 50 was available when I have started, it would have saved me some money.
The way current helis are marketed, your up front cost will be about $200 more for the 50, it will need more fuel as the 50 is more thirsty than the 30, but crash cost should be very close if not the same on the new 30/50 birds. So if you have the extra $200 I'd say go for it, as you'll end up with a heli that is not going to break the bank when (I used "when" instead of "if" on purpose here ) you crash it. The 50 helis coupled with the OS50 will have a power to weight ratio that rivals the 60 machines with a 91 in them! I think that makes it a lot easier to learn 3D.
Personally I really like the Hirobo Sceadu 50, but other contenders are the Raptor 50, the Century Falcon and some others....... Check out my site for more info in the "What to get?" section..... Good luck!

I am new to heli's also . But I started with R30 and can now hoover it. In the meantime I put a R60 together and yesterday I could'nt wait and stated this up and it was a little windy and to my suprise I could actually keep it in one spot easier . It felt much more stable . But hay I have less than one gallon of fuel under my belt. And the only reason I bought the R60 was I got it on e-bay new in the box ARF for $400 from hobby shop getting out of heli's. I had extra 68MDS engine,148dp rx and 9202 servos that I took off the used vigor.I am glad I did buy it

Me being a new guy too, and still logging time on the sim til I purchase in a couple weeks or so, I was wondering if you like the Ergo/Voyager or the Sceado. If you could give me a few differences on the two I would greatly appreciate it. I was going to wait til the end of March to get the Voyager but will get the sceado if I think it would be a wash otherwise.

Oh yeah...I know the JR has ccpm...does the sceado or do I have to purchase an upgrade for it?

I nkow nothing about the new JR 50 that's coming out....
Howver I do know that hte Sceadu has standard mixing stock and you can purchase the upgrade for it later if you want it. They have CCPM versions of the Sceadu available overseas, they just haven't been imported to the US yet. I personally like the standard mixing on the Sceadu and would not go for CCPM, but that's just me......

Thanks for your help

I appreciate the help.. Since this hobby has alot more expenses upfront I dont want to waste the money( I will need it for repairs)
Would you guys recommend the R600 radio or should I save for the Futaba or JR with the better servos??
