e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > OK to leave SuperNova unattended?

I charge my Rx and Tx packs regularly overnite unattended at no more than 1C rates. Also charge my 4Ah Dsize nicd glow batt at 1 amp (1/4C). On the latter, the cooling fins feel quite hot but I can leave my finger there almost indefinitely.

Is there a fire risk ? ok to leave it unattended?

1C rate means the cells are charged after approx. 1 hour (1 Ah = 1 Ampere per hour = the cell will deliver power at a 1 A current for approx. 1 hour and will be recharged at a 1 A current after approx. 1 hour)

If your charger stops charging fast when the cells are fully charged (say by delta-peak-method or using a temperature-sensor) it will be ok to leave them on the charger overnite.

If it doesn't, you might blow or at least damage your cells.

At 1/10C you could leave them on the charger almost infinitely in general, but I wouldn't do that either.

Er ... cooling fins? You mean the ones commonly used for soldering cells, don't you ?
