| Was out flying w/ a buddy of mine and I just purchased this heli about a week ago. I had one tank through it to trim so she was really on her maden flights. Well I let my buddy have a go at it. Trying to get him hooked on the heli bug. the first time he took the controller he skated it around on the training gear and by the end of that tank was able to hold a stable hover about a 1' off the ground.
Welp I put a few tanks through it and had worked my self up to hovering w/ the gear at eye lvl. working on nose in precision hovering. welp decided i was starting to try to hard and gave my friend another go. But I told him to keep it down and only a foot off the ground.
Welp my friend was holding it in a hover about a foot or so off the ground when he glanced off to the side and his thumb must have slipped off the throttle stick and advanced it forward. Well when he turned back around he panicked and pulled back on the stick. Causing it to scream past us w/ the main blade perpindicular to the ground.
About 150' behind us it knife edged into the back of my car and the blades preceded to beat the piss out of the back windshield. after a few seconds it flipped itself off the car bouncing for about 10'. By then I had gotten the controller from my friend and killed the throttle and trim switch to kill the engine. It was to late the impact of the ground threw the battery out of the tray disconnecting it. So the engine sat there running full throttle till the glow plug was blown.
Fortunatly no one was hurt but the heli is really screwed up...you can see pictures here, please dont pay attention to the webwork as i just threw it together to show people.

lucky for me the heli didnt do damage to the car it only left a slight scuff mark where the landing gear hit the trunk. My friend was so upset about it he was pukin his guts out behind a bush 30seconds afterwards. I was laughing so hard, my sides hurt. Probabaly one of the most insane crashes i've ever seen. Wish I had the video camera w/ me for that. as it was I didnt have the digital camera w/ me so I had to take pictures at work this morning
We got back to my place and my friend was still upset over it so he offered to pay to replace the heli...thought that was nice of him to do.
New Voyager will be here on friday...im gona be real busy trying to get it together for the funfly on Sat. |
