Just a reminder -

CHECK ALL YOUR LINKAGES REGULARLY!!!!

I was very lucky at the weekend. Had been practising 'Lazy Eights' and had just pulled into a hover at about 7ft off the grass - when I heard a sharp 'CRACK'.

My Shuttle wobbled and dropped fairly quickly to the ground - bouncing but incurring no other damage.

Cause of 'accident':
Investigation of linkages revealed fairly loose fitting plastic links on the metal balls. Links could be pulled off without use of tools.

Remedy:
Replace all plastic links and now carry out inspection of links before every flying session.

As a result of the linkage coming off (cracking noise - link probably hit some other part when it came off) one blade had nothing controlling its pitch and it was free to flap.

Outcome of accident could have been very different.

Why Oh why didnt I check that throttle link

fear is pulling the gas line off with broom stick in this situation.
Lucky I was just hovering (Unlucky 2 min into tank)
I pull test often . This is my wake up call

When checking your links, how much pressure are you putting on them to determine if they're popping off too easily? Just curious...

huh? Oh

I heard some where , probally here?
Pull hard enough to pull it over?
Anyhow found the problem . Link was rubbing on frame just enough to pop it ,after the link started to loosen up .
Didnt need that section of frame, thats what dremels are for.
NO more problem.

Debogus, funny you should mention that...it just happened to me yesterday!
The heli was acting really really jump...got it down in 1 piece and realized i had no throttle control, and the engine was bawling....so i just let it sit thre bawling at full throttle for like 8 minutes till it ran out of fuel, no way in hell was i getting near it to try and kill the engine!

Lesson - check everything very well!
