X-CELL GAS CONVERSION

Take heart all who long for the ease of Gas for their X-Cell 60. I just got off the phone with the Tech Crew at the Miniture Aircraft Co. in Florida. At first they told me that the parts were no longer available but after explaining how much I wanted to make use of the G-23 that I already had they said they could make to order the part/parts for the conversion. So.........I ordered the parts and I should have them in a couple of days. If you want the conversion, give 'em a call in FLA.

I've got all three. X-Cell Gasser, now waiting for rebuild. Bergen being rebuilt and Benzin. I prefer the Benzin purely from the ease of pull starting the G230RC engine. 'Old shoulders' have a problem pull starting the G23 although the Bergen rebuild will have a start shaft fitted. Parts count is highest on X-Cell and lowest on Benzin but I've never been worried by that. I don't know prices in your part of the world but a choice of any of the above will get a quality product.

Benzin Trainer

My vote is for the Benzin. I received my Benzin complete with engine,
ccpm side frames, and Airwolf fuse within a month. Three weeks later I was in the air. I flew model heli's about 15 years ago. I was able to hover just fine but never did achieve forward flight. I did all the research when I decided to return to R/C and decided on Vario. I then called air star International. WOW ... I can't say enough about the support I have received since that day. Due to my own fault I scored a cylinder wall on my G230! When I called Josef at air star, I thought I would have to wait on repairs or parts. That was not the case. Josef sent me a new G260 for the price of the jug and ring that was needed to repair mine. Down time = 8 days!
As for the Benzin, this is one great heli. Three months after starting it for the first time, I unplugged the buddy box and went on my own. I have to give air star, Vario and a friend all the credit for my success.

Depends on what you want to do

If you want to do scale, the Vario is your only choice probably.

If you want to fly pod and boom, then either are your choice.

If you want to do 3d, then the Xcell performs better than the Vario as its lighter and more agile, whereas you throw the benzin around and it more sluggish and tends to bog down more.

If you are not sure if you want scale, perhaps go with the Vario to have the option.

Xcell is available almost everywhere and at a discount compared to Vario.

Vario has less parts, but costs more per part.

Choices choices, the ultimate one is yours!
