I did some work on my throttle linkage to day, so I took her down behind my friends auto body shop, so I'm zipping around at a good rate, she was about 150 feet out, well I started to bring her around for a fast circle, when she was nose-in and on a slight downward angle the wind hit her hard and pushed her down, I'd say I missed the big dirt lunch by less than 2 feet, at just about full stick it would have been a bad one !!,,, I never had the wind push her down as hard as it did today...

I think you got caught in that "vortex turberance(SP??) of rotor wash Where you loses the lift, kind of like wind shear on aircraft. Good save.

You gotta love ground effect !! Ive found flying in the middle of a paddock this can happen form the wave effect from a plantation of large trees upwind in strong wind , you'll fly really slowly foward on full power with NO climbing taking place another 50 m foward and the lift is awesome like on a bungee.

Vortex ring strate
I was shown a handy trick when all else is lost roll gently to the right make it fly a little sideways ,Tried it , used it, worked for me.
